NBA Cup semifinals results, takeaways

The final two teams of the NBA Cup have been decided.

In the first game of Saturday night's doubleheader, the New York Knicks beat the Orlando Magic 132-120. Jalen Brunson was the star of the show, putting up 40 points on 16-of-27 shooting to go along with 8 assists and 4 rebounds. The Magic were up by three at the end of the first quarter, but the Knicks outscored them 38-28 in the second quarter and never looked back.

In the evening game, the San Antonio Spurs handed the Oklahoma City Thunder their second loss of the season in a 111-109 comeback effort. In his first game back from injury, Victor Wembanyama was a force for the Spurs. Wembanyama had 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 21 minutes. The Thunder almost tied it at the end, but Alex Caruso's valiant final effort was off-target.
