          Open Championship betting odds: Scheffler opens as favorite, McIlroy has second-shortest odds

          World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (+500) continues his streak of opening as the favorite in every golf major in 2025, this time for The Open Championship being held at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. The course is very familiar to world No. 2 Rory McIlroy (+700), who shot 61 at the course 20 years ago as an amateur playing the North of Ireland Championship but also struggled and missed the cut in 2019 the last time the Open was held there.

          Jon Rahm (12-1) and Bryson DeChambeau (18-1) form the next tier of contenders, Tommy Fleetwood is at 22-1 while Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland, Ludvig Åberg and Tyrrell Hatton all check in at 25-1. U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun opened at 90-1.

          The lowest tournament round score has been set at 63, with -180 for over, +700 for under and +210 for exactly 63. Winning margins of 1 (+210), 2 (+330), 3 (+550) or 4 or more (+300) are available, with +375 for the result to require a playoff. Odds for any golfer to make a hole-in-one are -120 for yes and -110 for no.
