Sights and sounds from the MLB Speedway Classic

The first-ever major league game played in the state of Tennessee continued on Sunday afternoon, with the Atlanta Braves beating the Cincinnati Reds 4-2 after resuming their Saturday matchup at Bristol Motor Speedway as part of the MLB Speedway Classic.

Over 85,000 fans bought tickets to Saturday's contest, bringing an MLB record-breaking crowd to the traditional racing venue, but unfortunately the amount of baseball played was minimal. A rain delay lasted over two hours, before an attempt to restart the game on a soaked field was quickly suspended with the Reds leading 1-0.

The game resumed from the point of suspension -- with one out in the bottom of the first inning -- at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, and it didn't take long for the Braves to find their groove. Eli White hit a three-run home run to give Atlanta the lead in the second inning, the first of two long balls for White on the day. Braves pitcher Hurston Waldrep, making his MLB debut, earned the win, pitching 5â…” innings.
