Opening Sunday of the 2025 NFL season delivered a notable twist in the early window.
Justin Fields and the New York Jets hosted Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first season opener featuring starting quarterbacks who swapped teams from the previous year.
Both signal callers delivered. Rodgers went 22-of-30 for 244 yards and four touchdowns, while Fields finished 16-of-22 for 218 yards with a touchdown through the air, plus 48 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.
In the end, Pittsburgh and its veteran quarterback prevailed, 34-32. It was a poetic finish for Rodgers, who also ended his Jets tenure with a four-touchdown passing game. He's now the first player in NFL history with consecutive four-touchdown passing games for different franchises.
After seven lead changes, Chris Boswell provided the game's proverbial final word with a 60-yard go-ahead field goal -- the longest in Steelers history -- with 1:03 left in the game. To seal it, Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey delivered a big hit on Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson to break up the pass and force a turnover on downs.
Here are the highlights and biggest moments from Ramsey and Rodgers' first win as Steelers.
