The Los Angeles Dodgers opened the 2024 season as favorites to win the World Series and, after defeating the New York Yankees in five games, they indeed celebrated with champagne come October.
According to ESPN BET, the Dodgers are still looking very likely to win the World Series again in 2025, opening as +400 favorites to repeat and currently sitting at +225 as the MLB season works its way towards the All-Star break.
A recent slide sees the Yankees drop to +850 odds and they are no longer the AL team to beat. That honor now goes to the Detroit Tigers (+750), who are running away with the AL Central.
The Philadelphia Phillies also check in with +750 odds, while a trio of teams (New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros) sit at 10-1.
