Scheffler describes battle with swing over first 3 days at U.S. Open (1:31)

Scottie Scheffler opens up about not having the swing he wants at the U.S. Open and how he's been able to battle to stay in the hunt. (1:31)

When the U.S. Open teed off Thursday at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, Scottie Scheffler, fresh off his PGA Championship win, was the favorite to win his second major in a row. After the first round, J.J. Spaun had the lead, but it was 2021 champ Jon Rahm who was favored after a 1-under 69 had him tied for sixth on the scoreboard.

Since then, Sam Burns (+180) has claimed both the lead and favored status after shooting 65 on Friday and 69 on Sunday to finish the third round at -4, one stroke ahead of Adam Scott (+325) and Spaun (+400), and three clear of Viktor Hovland (+550). No other golfer under par or better than 28-1 to come from behind for the win.
